Wie GIM meldet hat das Zentrum für Satellitengestützte Kriseninformation (ZKI), ein Service des Deutschen Fernerkundungsdatenzentrums (DFD) im DLR, den deutschen Geoinformationsdienstleister RapidEye AG unmittelbar nach dem Erdbeben beauftragt, die Sensoren der Rapideye-Satelliten auf das Katastrophengebiet auszurichten.
